In this episode of Breaking Trail, Coyote and the crew are in Texas for Part 2 of GAR WARS! Get ready to see one of the biggest fish you've ever laid eyes on as Coyote, Mario, and the Gar Guys catch a GIANT Alligator Gar - it's a real river monster! You won't believe your eyes!

They get over 100 pounds larger than that. . . I'm sure some would argue 200 but the world record confirmed was 325 pounds. They get larger than that as well, make no mistake. There's plenty of them out there. Most people don't care to have their name put in the books. Also ...... ALLIGATOR GAR ARE LABELED AS GAME FISH AND THERE'S A ONE PER DAY BAG LIMIT IN EFFECT THERE. So what this guy's talking about .. I'm not aware. There are very few areas or states where there isn't a bag limit on alligator gar. He's pretty much flat out making this crap up.. Lmao 1 per day anywhere in Texas even with a bow. Doesn't matter. ONE PER DAY. I will say, if you're killing these things and not eating them, or using them as bait. You should be imprisoned in my mind. Contrary to popular belief, they do taste very good, and have a very clean meat. They're not flaky like fish, they have the texture of poultry. Not tough or chewy and very clean flavor. I love to make them into a patty. The nice thing is that one good one can give you weeks or months worth of food. There's all kinds of ways that you can cook them up. They're good for you and taste wonderful. Depending upon where you caught them though. Obviously. Sent areas it's not safe to eat fish from often or at all.. Other areas just don't taste good...

This fish is gentle but not too gentle. Believe it or not, this fish species jumped and almost bite my head when i was 8 years old and i WILL never forget that moment for the rest of my life. Thank god the fish was in a pool and the surface of the pool is covered with a strong net
